If you are looking for a facelift surgeon in Cleveland, you have arrived at the right place. Facelift surgery is Dr. Wojtanowski's signature cosmetic procedure. The medical term for a facelift is a rhytidectomy. It a's surgical procedure that can improve signs of aging in the face and neck including:
· Sagging Skin
· Deep folds and lines between nose and corner of the mouth
· Loss of fat volume
· Jowls in the cheeks and jaw
· Loose skin and excess fat in the neck
· Double chin
These signs of aging can occur due to a variety of reasons including age, heredity, lifestyle such as excessive exposure to the sun or smoking and stress.
Many patients choose to undergo other facial procedures in conjunction with a face lift to offer a full-face rejuvenation. Additional procedures may include eyelift surgery (blepharoplasty), fat transfer to add volume, browlift, dermabrasion, and chemical peels.
Dr. Wojtanowski has trained extensively in facelift surgery, and he customizes the type of facelift procedure to match the needs of the patient. Over the years, facelifts have taken on different names such as short scar lift, mini facelift, mini lift, and neck lift. They are all a facelift. But, each procedure is highly individualized and customized to the patient. Because each patient’s anatomy is different, rarely are two facelift procedures exactly the same.
Who is a facelift candidate?
A suitable candidate for a facelift is someone pursuing it for themselves and not someone else. You should have a healthy outlook and realistic expectations. You should also be a non-smoker as there are risks associated with those who smoke including constricted blood vessels which can contribute to various complications.
At your first consultation, you can expect an in-depth conversation with Dr. Wojtanowski about your desired goals and expectations. He will educate you on the procedure that is best to achieve your goals and answer all your questions. He will review your health and previous surgeries, discuss best options and discuss anesthesia, recovery and more. This is a great opportunity for a plastic surgery patient to truly understand the process. A patient will have photographs taken, which are confidential, and discuss facelift costs and financial options with the patient coordinator. Financing plastic surgery is an option and patients often take advantage of the many plastic surgery financing choices. Many patients will book their surgery dates at the consultation, while others opt to give it thought and discuss with their families. We support our patients and never pressure anyone.
The facelift procedure
First and foremost, the procedure is an outpatient procedure which takes place at Ohio Clinic’s fully accredited Surgiplex facility which is located on the premises of Ohio Clinic. Our facility has achieved the highest level of accreditation offering patients the comfort of safety and unparalleled privacy, tucked away in a complex surrounded by a wooded perimeter. Patients will not encounter a populated area or busy parking lot.
Each patient’s face is different and will need a unique plan that optimizes their result. Incisions are made in areas that will be minimally visible. Again, since surgery is be performed on an outpatient basis, patients can recuperate in the comfort of their own home.
A traditional facelift incision often begins in the hairline at the temples, continues around the ear and ends in the lower scalp. Fat may be sculpted or redistributed from the face, jowls and neck and underlying tissue is repositioned, commonly the deeper layers of the face and the muscles are also lifted. Skin is redraped over the uplifted contours and excess skin is trimmed away.
A second incision under the chin may be necessary to further improve an aging neck. Sutures or skin adhesives close the incisions.
Some patients may only need to address the lower face and neck. In this instance, a neck lift addresses the sagging jowls, loose neck skin and fat accumulation under the chin. The neck lift incision often begins in front of the ear lobe and wraps around behind the ear and ends in the posterior hair behind the ear.
