Call it what you want – pooch, belly, fat, folds. For many women covering their stomachs with clothes and Spanx is the only way to deal with tummies that are less than tight.
Particularly, women who have given birth often find that their little bundles of joy left marks on their moms in the form of stretched out skin, extra fat and no elasticity. Other common causes include aging, significant fluctuations in weight, heredity and prior surgery.
That can all be changed. The medical term for tummy tuck surgery is abdominoplasty. During an abdominoplasty, Dr. Wojtanowski surgically tightens the muscles in the abdomen and removes excess fat with liposuction, leaving patients with a tight stomach. In some cases, the patient’s belly button may need to be repositioned and excess skin removed. There is a scar that sits below your bikini line which typically fades over time, although never fully disappears.
Some candidates for tummy tucks my only require the liposuction portion of the procedure if the muscles still have elasticity. This is a shorter procedure with less downtime.
A tummy tuck requires general anesthesia in our fully accredited Surgiplex Facility designed specifically for plastic surgery procedures.
Women who have undergone tummy tucks from Dr. Wojtanowski say they have regained the confidence in their bodies and in themselves.
A consultation with Dr. Wojtanowski is the best way to determine if you are a candidate.
